My work is influenced to an extent by the outer landscape but it tries also to reflect the internal landscape that we all have – informed by a multitude of things including film, music, memory, yearnings to be somewhere else and beliefs. These are landscapes existing in the mind that no one will ever see but the individual. I am interested in the idea of a generative force in life, that over time humbles the human-built monumental, and conversely, can transform modest settings into shrine-like features in landscape.
